Gerry Gayle (Jones) Moore, the only child of Chock and Mildred (Smith) Jones was born October 28, 1939, in Taloga. Gerry died peacefully at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City on December 23, 2022. Gerry lived with her mother, Mildred, and grandparents, Mary and Walter Smith on the family farm south of Taloga. She attended and graduated from Taloga School with the class of 1957. During her years, Gerry excelled in academics and played basketball and was a member of the band. She then enrolled in Oklahoma State University. Gerry and Bill Moore were married by Minister Bob Peake at the Taloga First Christian Church on August 4th, 1957. They made their home in Stillwater until Bill graduated from OSU. At which time they moved to Gerry's childhood home where Bill took over the farming operation. Their children were the 5th generation of the family to live in that home. This remained their home until 1974 when they moved to their new home a mile south of Taloga. Bill and Gerry greatly expanded their farming operation, and she was operating land and raising cattle at the time of her death. Gerry finished her degree at Southwestern Oklahoma State University and taught English at Clinton Jr High School before becoming a Social Worker with the Department of Human Services. She was dedicated to assisting families in Dewey County for over 30 years. She was a lifelong member of the Taloga community and extremely proud of her Western Oklahoma roots.

Gerry was a member of The First Christian Church of Taloga. As a young homemaker, she enjoyed being a member of the Extension Homemakers Club. She volunteered with The Willing Workers and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star serving as Worthy Matron as well as in other offices of the order. Gerry enjoyed tending to her houseplants and flower gardens. She cherished each of her many cats and dogs. Bill and Gerry were very active in their children's and grandchildren's lives. They attended many of their sporting events, speech contests, stock shows, 4H and FFA activities, dance and piano recitals. Gerry was also an avid OU fan and rarely missed watching a football or basketball game.

Gerry and Bill had two children, Monty and Suzy. Monty and his wife Janet, live in Norman, and have three children, Taylor, Chase and Kayla. Suzy and her husband Steve Hicks, live in Flemington, New Jersey, and have one daughter, Kassy.

Gerry was preceded in death by her parents and husband Bill of fifty-one years. Family remaining to cherish her memory includes her children, Monty and Suzy; their spouses, Janet and Steve; her four grandchildren, Taylor and wife Karin of Norman, Chase and wife Dana of Norman, Kayla and husband Tim Dickson of Enid, and Kassy of Flemington, NJ; four great grandchildren, Jacelyn, Easton, Berkeley and Barrett.
