Obituary

Glenda Mae Poulson was born on May 1, 1940 at home in Mutual, Oklahoma to Thelma Pearl (Humberd) Poulson and Chester Warren "Jud" Poulson. She passed away on March 5, 2009 at the age of sixty-eight years and ten months.

She attended school at Mutual and graduated in 1958. On September 13, 1958 she was joined in marriage to Carl L. Johnson at the country home of her parents. Carl and Glenda made their home in Enid, Oklahoma for the first two years where their first child, Susan Kay, was born in 1959. They then moved to the Mutual area where their first son, Randy Lynn, was born in 1961. They later made their home one mile west of the old Richmond School and there, two more children were added to the family, Rebecca Diane in 1969 and Eric Lee in 1972.

Glenda enjoyed being a full-time homemaker, mother, and grandmother. She liked to sew and always had a baby quilt ready to give to friends or family. She was well known for her good cooking and enjoyed baking for her family. The family will miss her famous chicken and noodles, potato salad, and date pudding. Glenda liked to spend time tending her garden and canning what she grew; and Glenda could always be heard singing while doing her "chores." She was a member of the Richmond Social Club.

Glenda was baptized in April, 2008 by Pastor Ewel Vaughn.

Glenda was preceded in death by her parents, Thelma and Jud Poulson; brother, Edwin Poulson; sister, Marilyn Gaffney; brother-in-law, Stan Gaffney; grandson, Shelby; and nephew, Paul Poulson.

Glenda is survived by her husband, Carl and their children, Susan and Phil England of Seiling, Randy and Sherry Johnson of Mutual, Rebecca and Nathan Shuyler of Tulsa, Eric and Shelly Johnson of Woodward; grandchildren, Amanda and Jerrod Geiger, Lance and Tereisa England, Jamie Johnson and Daniel McIntyre, JJ and Amanda Johnson, Andrea Ketron, Samantha and Matt Sander, Lunden England, Josh Goff, Chandler Johnson, and Olivia Shuyler; nine great-grandchildren; special friend, Donna June Matthews; sister-in-law, Wanita Poulson of Camargo; sisters, Joyce Hunter, Dorene Shadid, and Shirlene Boyd; several brothers- and sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews, beloved family members and a host of friends and neighbors.
