IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Hardy Dale
Hamm
August 21, 1969 – July 6, 2023
Hardy Dale Hamm, a beloved companion, father, papa, brother, friend, and professional conversationalist, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2023, in Arapaho, Oklahoma surrounded by many family members and friends. He enjoyed his children and brethren's singing in his home during his final moments.
On August 21,1969 Alfred and Wilma (Edwards) Hamm welcomed their beautiful baby boy into this world. He was born into a family that ended up having 8 siblings. Hardy loved his mother, sisters, and brothers. Each one shares many memories of great faith, happiness, along with some mischievous times.
Hardy loved being with his brothers and spent many moments forging a bond that lasted until his last breath. He made many visits to see his sisters and cherished the memories made while visiting them at their homes from beaches to forests. He has many adventures.
He grew up alongside his family in Wayne, Oklahoma where he played football. He was very proud of the many games he would play as the small guy on the team and often voiced the many lessons learned while playing. He graduated in 1987.
Hardy was baptized into the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn at the age of 16, on July 6, 1986, 37 years before his death. Faith was a constant in his life that drove many decisions and conversations he would have. He found joy in helping people and teaching them about his faith. He never shied away from sharing his love of God with anyone that would hear and had the courage to speak what he felt led. He lived his faith and was an example to all who had the joy of knowing him.
He met his love of 29 years, LaNita Castor and they were married in Vici on March 20, 1993. They share many miles traveled to hold meetings and see many friends and brethren over their years. They shared many joys, including traveling, antiquing, and singing, during which they were blessed with three children.
Hardy was always a hard worker who showed this during his early career by working full-time and going to school at night to become a journeyman electrician. He worked many years after this until he founded Auzzy Electric with LaNita. He loved the freedom that this gave him to show love, and care to anyone he came across. Through this Hardy met many people. He had the welcome surprise of hiring Jackson Sweet who helped him on many jobs. He considered Jackson and his family to be a special blessing, eventually claiming him as his own.
On April 14, 2022, Hardy and his family bore the burden of losing LaNita. This caused many tears and forged stronger family connections than before. While dealing with sorrow Hardy met Paula (Pruitt/Neal) and she met many needs in his life. Paula and Hardy shared many cherished conversations about joys, trials, and sorrows. Through this they forged a relationship that grew into a desire for marriage. Both families were blessed to witness this marriage on February 18, 2023. This blessing was with them for the last 4 months of Hardy's life and he shared his delight with anyone who would listen. They were together with joy until his final moments.
Hardy Hamm was preceded in death by his beloved wife, LaNita Hamm, his parents Alfred and Wilma Hamm, his brother Wesley Hamm, his sister Alfreda Meyers, his sister Renae Outlaw, and several nieces and nephews. Although his passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved him, his memory will forever be cherished.
He is survived by his loving wife, Paula Hamm, and his children: Austin Hamm and his wife Carrie of Moore, Oklahoma; Jodi Hamm of Cushing, Oklahoma; Kellie Hamm of Cushing, Oklahoma; and Jackson Sweet and his wife Kassidy of Arapaho, Oklahoma. Hardy's legacy lives on through his adored grandchildren: Griffin Hamm, Canaan Hamm, Cooper Hamm, and Hollynn Hamm. He is also survived by his sister Dalla Johnson of Sarasota, Florida, and his three brothers: Trentice Hamm and his wife Becky of Lexington, Oklahoma; Woody Hamm and his wife Charlotte of Lexington, Oklahoma; and Greg Hamm and his wife Maranda of Stratford, Oklahoma. Additionally, Hardy leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends who were touched by his warmth and kindness.
