Harland Leonard Poulson, 80, of Foss, Oklahoma, passed away May 13, 2023 in Elk City, Oklahoma. He was born on February 4, 1943, in Woodward, Oklahoma, to Cleo (Booje) Harland Poulson and Mary Louise (Moore) Poulson.

Harland grew up on the family farm near Mutual, Oklahoma, and attended Mutual Public School. On February 6, 1964, he married Barbara Sue Ferrell in Seiling, Oklahoma. They made their home in Woodward, Oklahoma, and were blessed with four children: three sons James Scott, Robert Lynn, and John Harland and a daughter Christi Suzanne.

Throughout his life, Harland worked as a welder, a heavy equipment operator, and a carpenter. He was a skilled tradesman and took great pride in his work.

In March of 1984 Harland married Ellen Marie Elwood at the United Methodist Church in Woodward, Oklahoma, and he welcomed her children Steven Gail and Beverly Ann Williams. They lived in Woodward before moving to their present home in Foss, Oklahoma. Harland had many special interests and hobbies, he enjoyed fishing, car racing, and knife making.

Harland was preceded in death by his parents Booje and Louise Poulson, his stepdaughter Beverly Ann Williams, and other loved ones. He is survived by his wife Ellen Poulson of Foss, Oklahoma, his children James Poulson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Lynn Poulson of Elk City, Oklahoma, John Poulson of Sulphur, Oklahoma, and Christi Poulson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and stepson Steven Williams and wife Dianne of Vici, Oklahoma. He also leaves behind nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, two sisters Kathryn Hamilton and husband Eugene of Fargo, Oklahoma, Cynthia Mullberger and husband David of Pawnee, Oklahoma, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Harland was a kind and generous man who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy will live on through his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, as well as the many lives he touched throughout his life.
