Harold Wayne Hamaker, 75 year old resident of Fargo, Oklahoma died June 28, 2009. Harold was born June 25, 1934 on the family homestead, south of Fargo, to June Edward and Effie Irene (Hedrick) Hamaker.
His school years were spent attending Fargo Public Schools and he later received his G.E.D.
On December 20, 1953 Harold was united in marriage to Miss Rae Dean Holt in the Liberty Baptist Church south of Fargo. They were blessed with the birth of their children, Starlene, Justin, and Douglas.
The first four years of their marriage were spent living in San Diego, California while Harold served his country as a 1st Class Machinist Mate in the United States Navy. They lived for a short time in Bremerton, Washington before returning to Oklahoma to make their home, once again, south of Fargo, where they remained for the next 50 years until moving to town.
Harold's livelihood was farmer/rancher. He enjoyed working his cattle and the land. Harold also operated his business, H&R Tire for many years before retiring and working along side Rae Dean in their quilt shop in Fargo. He machine quilted many pieced tops for quilters in western Oklahoma and across the country.
At the young age of 13 Harold accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized in the Liberty Baptist Church. He was a longtime member of the Oklahoma Cattleman's Association.
Harold is preceded in death by his parents, June Edward and Effie Irene Hamaker; parents-in-law, Sam and Sara Holt; brother, George Hamaker; brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Betty Holt; sister-in-law, Evelyn Hamaker; and nephews, Clyde Holt and Bob Hamaker.
Those remaining to cherish his memory are wife, Rae Dean Hamaker of the home in Fargo; daughter, Starlene Hamaker of Stillwater, OK; sons, Justin Hamaker and wife Angela, and Douglas Hamaker and wife Benita, all of Fargo; brother and sister-in-law, Bud and Evelyn Holt sisters-in-law, Pat Hamaker and Reta Fessler;; fifteen grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and a lifetime of friends.
