Obituary

Harry Lee Ramsey, 87 year old Tecumseh resident departed this life on October 29, 2013. Harry was born November 13, 1925 to Harry Wallace and Ellen Kennedy Ramsey in Rice, Kansas. He and his family moved to Camargo, Oklahoma, when he was about four years old. He graduated from Camargo High School as valedictorian in 1944 and soon afterward joined the United States Army and served honorably until 1946. His service tour included Germany, France, and England. Harry attended Southwestern College in Weatherford on the GI Bill. In 1949, Harry married the love of his life, Pat Cleveland.

Harry worked for Boeing Aircraft Company as a quality control supervisor in Wichita, Kansas, and Hagarstown, Maryland. He owned and operated an automotive supply distributorship until he retired in December, 1993. His life was filled with the people he loved and friends, both old and new. Harry had an impact on the lives of everyone who knew him. He loved to visit and tell stories. His memory was astounding and he rarely repeated a story. His stories were of his life growing up with his brothers and sisters and special friends. Harry's stories of his Army life were human and showed the lighter side of a difficult time.

Harry was a Christian whose life was a perfect example for his family and friends. His philosophy was never worry. Fix it if you can; and if you can't, "don't waste the sunshine that you have." He loved his family, his God, his country, and fishing.

He is survived by Pat, his wife of sixty-four years, children Yvonne and husband Neal Green, Lewis and his wife Dawn, Dawn and her husband Jerry Young. He is also survived by grandchildren Robert Green, Lee Green and his wife Brandi, and Kathy Clement; great-grandchildren Nikki Clement, Christopher Stahl; great-great grandchildren Aiden, Chaley, and Kali.

Harry Lee was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Margaret Fiedler and Dorothy Saxton and their husbands, brothers Tommy Ramsey and Joe Ramsey and his wife.

Graveside services will be Thursday, October 31, at 2:00 p.m. at Camargo Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, American Heart Association, or American Diabetes Association.
