Henry Albert Jones was born February 8, 1915 to F.O. and Effie Jones. He passed from this life on November 14, 2007 at the age of 92 years, 9 months, and 6 days. Henry was born in Dacoma, Oklahoma and as a small child moved with his family to Fairview, Oklahoma, then in 1928 the family made Mutual their home. Henry attended Sibel Country School.

On December 9, 1936 Henry married Leah Landon at the Woodward Christian Church. After marriage, they made their home in Mutual, Oklahoma. In 1943, they purchased a farm in the Sharon community and lived there until 1974 when they moved to their home in Sharon.

Henry worked for the county of Woodward from 1953 until 1976, when due to doctor's orders he retired. Farming was one of Henry's loved pastimes. Hunting, gardening, crafts, and woodworking were some of Henry's favorite hobbies.

Henry was baptized and became a member of the Mutual Christian Church in 1950. He was a respected member and served as a deacon and as an elder of the Mutual Christian Church.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents F.O. and Effie Jones by two brothers Russell Jones and Jackie Jones, by three sisters-in-law Juanita Jones, Vaniza Jones, and Lelia Lawrence, by three brothers-in-law Frank Burns, Bill Harrison, and Walter Lawrence.

He is survived by his wife Leah of the home in Sharon, Oklahoma; by one sister Pearl Harrison of Woodward, Oklahoma; by one sister-in-law Leora Burns of Vici, Oklahoma; many nephews, nieces, other family and a host of friends.

Services were held Sunday, November 18, 2007 in Mutual Christian Church with burial following in Persimmon Cemetery. Services arranged by Shaw Funeral Home, Vici, Oklahoma. Condolences may be made at shawfuneralhome.net
