Hilda Mae Sumpter Evans was born on March 27, 1942 in Camargo, Dewey County, OK. to Fred Sumpter and June A. Gardner Sumpter. She attended Camargo School and graduated with the class of 1960. Hilda was united in marriage to Bennie Dean Evans on May 29, 1960 at Higgins, TX. They made their first home in Oklahoma City, OK and later moved to Vici, OK and Camargo, OK. before returning to make their permanent home near Vici. Hilda and Bennie were blessed with four children, Sherry, Pattie, Frankie and Kristi.
She was a loving wife and mother, always supporting her family. Her greatest times were with her family, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Bennie Evans of the home. Daughters Sherry Johnson and husband Randy of Mutual, OK. and Kristi Cole and husband Troy of San Francisco Bay Area CA.; her son, Frankie Evans and wife Donna of Guthrie, OK. and her son in law, Kevin Clayton of Chester, OK. Nine grandchildren, Trisha Orsburn and husband Grayson of Noble, OK., Jamie King and husband Kevin of Woodward, OK., Randy Johnson, Jr. of Woodward, OK., Samantha Sander and husband Matt of Mutual, OK., Shandie Evans of Guthrie, OK., Shelby Evans of Guthrie, OK., Sophie Evans of Guthrie, OK., Kale Clayton of Chester, OK. and Kloe Clayton of Chester, OK. and nine great grandchildren. Brothers, Darell Sumpter and wife Donna of Pampa, TX., Ronnie Sumpter of Choctaw, OK. and Bobby Sumpter and wife Coral of Knoxville, TN. and her sister, Willa June Laverty and husband Alvie of Laverne, OK. A sister-in-law, Alta Evans of Vici, OK. and brother-in-law, Frankie Evans and wife Mary Jane of Sharon, OK., numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Hilda was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and June Sumpter, mother and father-in-law, Clara and Cecil Evans, Allen Wherritt and Bill Myers, her daughter, Pattie Clayton, several brother in laws and sister in laws, aunts, uncles, cousins and other loved ones.
Hilda will be missed greatly by her family and all who knew her.
