Obituary

Hilda Eyerman Sinnett passed from this life at the seasoned age of 93 years. She was born to Henry William and Mary Magdalena Eyerman of Grove City, Ohio. Hilda and her brother Paul were raised on a small farm where she cherished many fond memories. She remembered riding and guiding the horse while her brother plowed behind them. She also remembered when a horse rode up to their farm and told them that the US had entered the second World War and finally the evening that they turned on their radio and learned that their cherished President Roosevelt had passed away.

Hilda was very active in Grove City High school where she participated in the 4H Club, played on the high school bowling team and acted in their high school plays. Hilda designed and made many of the costumes for those plays. Her sewing abilities landed her a job working for a tailor and later designed many of her own clothes.

Hilda grew up attending St. John's Lutheran Church in Grove City where she was confirmed as a believer in Jesus Christ and sang in the choir for many years. After graduation from high school Hilda attended Capital University and graduated with a Registered Nursing degree. In June of 1952, she was married to the young marine, George R. Welker. They raised four children living in Ohio and Rockford, Ill.

Later in life Hilda moved to Largo, Florida where she made many friends and continued her nursing career. During these years she was very active on a bowling team, the Red Hat club, the Aerobic water club - The Water Bells and held many offices and awards from the Garden Club. While in Florida she met and married William Sinnett a retired Navy fighter pilot and resided together until his death in 2007.

Hilda enjoyed traveling to destinations like Nova Scotia, Paris and Paraguay, South America. Her favorite trips were to family birthdays, weddings, for new babies, and holidays. In her later years she moved to Arnett Oklahoma to be closer to children, grand and great grandchildren.

Hilda is survived by her four children Bruce David Welker of Tampa, FL., Brenda Susan Word and husband Brad of Arnett, OK, Linda Jean Hickey and husband Christopher of Rockton IL, and Larry Eugene Welker and wife Juanita of Gonzales, LA. She also leaves 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and many other family and friends.
