Iva Pearl Wylie passed from this life on February 29, 2008 at the age of 85. She was born to Luther Alfred and Stella Mae Yeatman on January 24, 1923 at Arnett, Oklahoma. She attended school until the 11th grade.
Iva married Vessie Manford Baldwin on July 26, 1940 in Fairview, Oklahoma. This union was blessed with five children; Charles Alfred, Lois Jean, Louise Mae, Lillian Pearl, and Leon Manford. On September 26, 1981 Iva was united in marriage to Leon Wylie in Enid, Oklahoma. Iva lived in several communities throughout Oklahoma and Colorado. Iva was a loving mother and enjoyed being a homemaker. She worked outside the home as a construction foreman, and a heavy equipment operator. Her co-workers at the Woodward Iodine Plant fondly referred to her as "Big Mamma". She loved to paint, collect antiques, and travel around the country seeing the sights.
Iva was baptized as a child at the Coram Pond. She was a member of and attended the Light Thru the Gospel Church.
Iva was preceded in death by both husbands, Vessie Baldwin and Leon Wylie; by her parents, Luther and Stella Yeatman; by son, Charles Alfred Baldwin; by grandson, Albert Calvin Moad; by brother, Alfred Yeatman; by sisters, Opal Yeatman and Mary Jennings.
She is survived by her children, Lois Jean Moad of Canton, OK, Louise Mae Caurrier, Lillian Peal Ake, and Leon Manford Baldwin all of Seiling, OK; by son-in-law, Floyd Eldon of Seiling, OK; by brothers, Luther Yeatman of Enid, OK, Elmer Yeatman of Oklahoma City, OK and Loyd Yeatman of Clarkridge, AR; by sisters, Hazel McCord of Oklahoma City, and Violet Freeman of Noble, OK; by grandchildren, Richard Martin, Randy Martin, Rhonda Maker, Donna Ake, Dustin Ake, Angela Snyder, Clint Ake, Melony Ake, Deanna Smith, and Steve Baldwin; by twenty-seven great-grandchildren, five great great-grandchildren, by many nieces, nephews, other family and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 5, 2008, 2:00 p.m. at the Shaw Funeral Home Chapel in Vici, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at the Sunnyside Cemetery east of Vici. Condolences made be made at shawfunerlhome.net.
