J ackie Martin Brown, 91-year-old resident of Vici, OK, completed his earthly journey on April 21, 2022.  He was born on January 4, 1931 to Luther and Hazel (Speck) Brown in Woodward County near Vici, OK. and grew up on the family farm 8 miles northwest of Vici. He attended grade school and high school in the Vici Public School system and was a member of the graduating class of 1949.  On November 11, 1950, Jackie married the love of his life, Mildred Anna Gregory at the Vici United Methodist Church and they shared nearly 71 years together. Their union was blessed with three sons, Joe, Larry, and Martin.  Their first home was on the farm near Vici from 1950 to 1954 before moving to Friona, TX. where Jackie worked on an irrigation farm.  In 1961 the family moved to Balko, OK. and Jackie worked on a ranch until he purchased the family farm where he was born and returned his family to Vici in 1966.  Along with the everyday duties of farm and family life Jackie was employed at the Vici Farmers Coop for 26 years and served two terms on the board of directors. His family, community and faith were very important to him.  Jackie was baptized when he was 25 years old and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Friona, TX.  He served as an usher, Sunday school director, and deacon.  Returning to Vici he attended the First Baptist Church and later in life he attended the South Persimmon Baptist Church near Sharon, OK.

He enjoyed the farm, country living, fishing and visiting.
