Jacqueline Darlene Jones, always known as Jackie and fondly called Meme, was born on August 11, 1933, in Shattuck, OK. She was the second of six children born to Roy "Babe" and Vilma Eudora (Peard) McCleery. Her early years were spent on the family farm, and in 1936, the family moved to Stockton, CA, where she began her school years. As she grew older, she eagerly awaited the day they would return to Oklahoma, and after her father's challenge to milk three cows by herself, she accomplished it, sealing the family's return to Oklahoma in 1945. They made their home southeast of Harmon, OK, where Jackie completed her formal education in the Vici Public School system.

On October 11, 1950, Jackie was united in marriage to Wendell Gail Jones, a tall, lanky young man from the Harmon community. He was the love of her life. They lived in Borger, TX, for a time before returning to establish their home in Vici, OK, where they raised their three sons, Tom, Mike, and Steve. Jackie was a devoted homemaker, a marvelous cook, and took great pride in her flower and vegetable garden. Her talents extended to sewing, and she spent many hours crafting for Stephen G merchandise, a clothing operation established by her son, Steve. Jackie also served as the bookkeeper for the family-owned business, Vici Auto Parts, on the corner of Main and Broadway in Vici for many years.

Following the loss of Wendell, Jackie worked as a caregiver. She was a faithful member of the Vici Church of the Nazarene, where she served as a Sunday School Teacher and the church secretary. Always a willing worker, she was ever-ready to help in any church activity. In later years, Jackie relocated to Sharon, KS, to be closer to her family before moving to a long-term care facility in Kiowa, KS.

Jackie peacefully passed from this life on January 22, 2024, at the age of 90 years, 5 months, and 11 days, with family by her side. She is preceded in death by her parents Babe and Vilma McCleery, her beloved husband Wendell Jones, two of her sons Tom Jones and Steve Jones, a great-grandson Dameron Price, and a great-granddaughter Trinity Jones. Also preceding her were her five siblings, Billie File, Lee McCleery, Yvonne Crenshaw, Ron McCleery, and Carolyn Hartzell, along with other loved ones.

Jackie is survived by her son Mike Jones and his wife Sabrina of Sharon, KS, her grandchildren Tommy Lee Jones and his wife Amanda, Denton Jones and his wife Kim, Micha Werner and her husband Brad, Chanda Bush and her husband Tanner, Taos Jones and his wife Jackie, and Danni Hixson and her husband Scotty. Additionally, she leaves behind nineteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter, daughters-in-law Loretta Ryel and Kathy Jones, sister in law Carole Turner and brother in law Dave Crenshaw,  along with numerous nieces and nephews and  other relatives and friends.

We can celebrate her life and remember her for the spiritual example set by her faith and her love for family and friends.  We take leave of her not so much in mourning as we do in rejoicing for the memories she has given us and for her strong spirit.  But most of all, we rejoice for her new beginning.
