Janet Delora Nelson, 82-year-old resident of Woodward, OK, passed on January 27, 2023.  Janet was born September 10, 1940, to Zenas Gerald and Venia Mae (McCance) Nelson in Woodward, OK.  She grew up in Mutual, OK where she attended school and graduated.  Janet went to college in Bakersfield, CA where she obtained her bachelor's degree.

After college, Janet moved to Indiana and in the late 1970s she moved back to Woodward.  She worked as a business teacher at the High Plains Technology School in Woodward.  Janet was a member of the Crosspointe Church in Mooreland, OK and she enjoyed doing activities with the church.  Janet also helped the inmates in the Woodward jail with SAT testing and helping them to obtain their high school GEDs in the 90s.  She was a member of the Red Hat Ladies.

Janet is preceded in death by her parents Zenas and Venia Nelson, daughter Janice Lynn Nelson, and brother Terry E. Nelson.

She is survived by her three nieces Sandra Ransom of Joice, IA, Julie Moulin of Hollister, MO, and Janice Nelson of St. Joseph, MO; many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
