IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Janice Marie
Hale
November 16, 1948 – December 16, 2024
Janice Marie Hale, the daughter of Harlon Levon Hale and Margaret "Peggy" Revis Hale, was born on November 16, 1948, in Duncan, Oklahoma. She passed away peacefully on December 16, 2024, at the age of 76 in Vici, Oklahoma.
Throughout her youth, Janice's family moved often, living in New Mexico, Duncan, Oklahoma, Sterling, Oklahoma, and Mooreland, Oklahoma. She graduated from Mooreland High School in the Class of 1966, where she excelled in varsity basketball. After high school, she attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva, Oklahoma, pursuing a degree in Fine Arts. Later, she took cosmetology courses and worked in salons in Woodward, Oklahoma.
Janice had a free spirit and a deep sense of adventure. She moved to New York City, where she worked as a magazine illustrator and in a jewelry store. Her curiosity and zest for life eventually led her to Texas, where she embraced the vibrant city life in Austin and Houston. She had the thrill of meeting Elvis Presley and even claimed to have seen a UFO during this time.
In the early 1970s, Janice traveled to Chicago, Illinois, where she met Ricki Rosengren. Together, they welcomed a daughter, Autumn, in 1976. She later returned to Oklahoma to be closer to family. After the passing of her parents, Janice moved to Fort Worth, Texas, where she married Samuel Robertson.
Janice was a woman of many talents. While in Texas, she embraced her creative passions, painting and crafting decorative items that she sold at local craft fairs. She was deeply involved in her faith and her community, participating in Christian Women's Club, Tres Colores, the Red Hat Society, and "The Promise" in Glen Rose, where she performed and showcased her messianic jewelry and artwork.
After her divorce, Janice returned to Oklahoma, settling in Vici to reconnect with family and friends. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her three grandchildren, whom she adored and spoiled every chance she got. She cherished her time with them, traveling often to see them and celebrating their milestones.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Harlon and Margaret Hale; her sister, Diana Hale; and other loved ones. She is survived by her daughter, Autumn Weir, and her husband, Barton, of Vici, Oklahoma; her three grandchildren; her brother, Jerry Hale, and his wife, Marilyn, of Vici, Oklahoma; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Janice will be remembered for her artistic spirit, adventurous heart, and the love she poured into her family and faith. She leaves behind a legacy of creativity, resilience, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
