IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jaunita Sue
Hloucha
December 5, 1964 – December 18, 2024
Jaunita Sue "Susie" (Oakley) Hloucha was born December 5th, 1964 in Canadian, Texas to Ruby Joyce Faus and Thomas Lewis Oakley. She spent her childhood in several places, notably Los Angeles, CA; Vernonia, OR; Amarillo, TX and Spearman, TX. She was proud to have been part of a swim team in High School but suffered a car accident that ended her swimming and high school careers in the 10th grade. At a young age, she brought two daughters Ashley and Crystal into her life. A single young mother, she explored her options in California and Texas before making her home in Shattuck, OK to be near her grandmother. Here in Shattuck, she met William Newton Hloucha "Wild Bill". Together they brought another daughter, Tina, into their lives. They married on July 10th, 1992 in Shattuck, OK at what was then the Horseshoe Park. Having been through immense trauma in her difficult childhood, she had an incredible soft spot for those who had fallen on hard times. She was Momma to her girls, but Aunt Susie to many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and to anyone she met along the way who needed an Aunt Susie. She passed from this life on the evening of December 18th, 2024.
Susie worked several jobs, sometimes as many as three at a time helping make ends meet. She loved cooking and was great at it, working at both Newman Memorial Hospital and the Shattuck Nursing Center. For a time, she was a Certified Nursing Assistant at the Shattuck Nursing Center. It didn't matter the job; she loved doting on the residents and showing them love every way she could. In the evenings she could be found at The Corner Pub bartending. Susie loved to do things – all the things. She loved cooking, baking and jelly making, camping and fishing, mountains, the ocean, writing and sharing her poetry, thrift store and yard sale shopping, and motorcycles. She could never wait to show people all the "cool stuff" she found. She had in the last couple years began learning beadwork and making beaded strands for her friends and loved ones. Even more than loving the fun stuff she did, she LOVED people and could easily make a friend in a strange town or parking lot and at the drop of a hat. She was known for giving everything she could, sometimes even more than she had to anyone in need. You could never just know Susie. She treated every person she loved as hers… her family and even if you knew she was mad at you, you still knew that you were loved fiercely by her.
