IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jc
Buck
January 7, 1948 – December 24, 2023
John Charles Buck, better known as "J.C." was the proud son of Emmett and Doris (Bowman) Buck was born on January 7, 1948, peacefully passed from this life in his home on December 24, 2023. J.C.'s younger years were spent on the family farm where he learned a strong work ethic from his dad. He could drive a tractor before his feet could touch the pedals, only one gate was destroyed. Lol. He was a good big brother to his sister Jarita, but maybe a little onery. One occasion resulted in a BB that is still in his hand today. J.C. spent many hours riding horses with his cousin Sondra and working cattle with his dad. J.C. was baptized in the summer of 1961. J.C. had polio as a child but never let it slow him down. After high school and college, he continued farming and ranching with his dad and also was a manager of a pizza hut, roustabout, truck driver, heavy equipment operator for Dewey County, even a storm spotter for News 9 for a brief time. J.C. was known for his greyhound dogs and love of hunting coyotes with them. He was always ready to hunt with his buddies.
On March 31, 1982, J.C. and Robin (Beasley) were married in Amarillo, Texas with his special cousin Creola Nebhut, her husband Frank and daughter Sue as their witnesses. When J.C. and Robin married a daughter, Annie Ruth joined the family. To this union also came Amie and Matt. J.C. was a farmer and rancher and was always proud of his limousine and red angus cattle. He loved to go to Colorado and ride the jeep trails and the sand dunes on his 4-wheeler. His favorite pastime was his grandchildren. He taught his kids and grandkids to drive at a young age. In 2015, J.C. wife Robin was called to the Lord and sometime later met his special lady friend as he liked to call her, Darla Boatman. They had many wonderful times together. J.C. was a board member of the Vici Coop for many years. He loved watching a good western, playing pitch, good cow dogs, especially blue heelers, O.U. football and being with his family. J.C. was affectionally known as Dad, Grandpa, Brother, Uncle, Cousin, and Friend. He was strong, brave, loyal, and a good man. To his family he was known as being stubborn, Lol, but he came by that honestly. Though he had cancer he continued farming and ranching as long as he was able to, but you definitely knew he was still the boss, Lol. He never lost his faith because he knew something better was ahead.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Emmett and Doris Buck, his wife Robin Buck, his beloved grandparents, and other loved ones.
His memory will be cherished by his children, Annie Ruth, Amie Hager and her husband Shane, and Matt Buck, eight grandchildren Sara Mae, Kane, Remington and Rachel and Jade, Hunter, Dakota, and Wyatt Hager. His sister Jarita Cardwell and her husband Rick, special cousin Creola Nebhut and his devoted lady friend, Darla Boatman. Also, nieces and nephews, cousins extended family and friends.
