Obituary

Evelyn "Jennifer" Petree was born September 29, 1976, to parents Sheryl Shelton Bunde and Neal Edens, and went home to Jesus on April 7th, 2024, surrounded by her family and friends. She exemplified unwavering dedication, love, and passion for her family, friends, and community, and will be forever remembered and missed.

Jennifer graduated from Denton High School in 1995, and shortly thereafter, obtained her cosmetology degree.  That same year, Jennifer moved to Shattuck and welcomed her first born, Robbie Burris. Motherhood came naturally to Jennifer, and she embraced her new role.  In the fall of 1995, she met the love of her life, Chad Petree, and the two were married September 3rd, 1999 in Lipscomb, Texas.

Chad and Jennifer built a home and their life in Shattuck, Oklahoma.  In the year 2000, they welcomed baby girl Makayla, to the family.  As a dedicated mother, Jennifer treasured every moment spent with her kids.  Jennifer made her kids' sporting events and interests her top priority. In fact, she and Chad spent many anniversaries watching the annual Shattuck  Fastpitch Softball Tournament.  Jennifer was also excitedly planning for the arrival of her first grandchild, Archie Lynn Burris, due in May.

Jennifer worked at Jess Wales Chevrolet in Shattuck, OK, and for 14 years, she ran the business office. She had an eye for detail that made the dealership one of the best in the state.

In her free time, Jennifer was a creative genius, who loved to scrapbook, cook, travel, and most of all, plan elaborate events. She would be the first to volunteer to help with any parties, whether it was a school dance, a Christmas play, or a shower, Jennifer added the special touches that made it memorable.

Jennifer cherished time with her family, and her passing will leave a void in the hearts of her loved ones. She is survived by her devoted husband Chad, children Robbie Burris and wife Bre; Makayla Petree and boyfriend Dalton Arrowsmith. Jennifer is also survived by her parents, Sheryl Shelton Bunde and Neal Edens, sister Shanda Aldrich and husband Jason, and brothers Jason Edens and David Edens.  She will be greatly missed by her extended family which includes many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, as well as her close friends.

Evelyn Jennifer Petree was a strong, courageous, and faithful woman, who believed in the power of prayer. She will forever be remembered as a fierce protector, a loyal friend, a loving wife, and a dedicated mother.
