Obituary

Jessie Lee Willsie, a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, and respected pastor, passed away on March 11, 2024, at the age of 92. He was born on March 21, 1931, in Mena, Arkansas, to Lee Jefferson and Lillian Willsie.

Growing up in Leedey, Oklahoma, Jessie graduated from Leedey High School in 1949. He pursued higher education at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma, where he further honed his academic and personal skills.

In 1951, Jessie married Ruby Bernice Lairson in Sayre, Oklahoma. Together, they were blessed with four children: Mitchell, Lavonna, Maurine, and Gordon. His family was the cornerstone of his life, and he approached fatherhood with dedication and love.

A man of faith, Jessie was called to serve as a pastor. His ministry touched the lives of many, offering comfort, guidance, and hope to those in need. He was baptized into the Methodist Church in 1944 and carried his faith with him throughout his life's journey.

In addition to his pastoral duties, Jessie found joy in various hobbies. He had a passion for coon hunting, finding solace and excitement in the great outdoors. He also enjoyed playing pool and cherished moments of fellowship with friends and loved ones.

Jessie served his country with honor, joining the Army in 1949 and demonstrating his commitment to duty and service.

In 1985, Jessie found love again when he married Linda Willsie in Shattuck, Oklahoma. Together, they shared a life filled with companionship, love, and mutual support.

Jessie Lee Willsie is preceded in death by his parents, Lee Jefferson and Lillian Willsie. He is survived by his devoted wife, Linda Willsie, of Shattuck, Oklahoma, his children Mitchell Willsie of Exeter, Rhode Island, Lavonna Lee of South Carolina, Maurine Heath of Yukon, Oklahoma, and Gordon Scott Davis of Dallas, Texas. His legacy also lives on through his six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, who will carry forward his memory with love and admiration.

A celebration of Jessie's life and legacy will be held at a later date to honor his memory and the impact he had on all who knew him. His kindness, compassion, and unwavering faith will continue to inspire and guide those whose lives he touched. Jessie will be deeply missed but forever remembered with love.
