Jimmy Lee Shrum was born July 8, 1951 in Lenora, Oklahoma to Josie Edgar and Betty Jo "Jones" Shrum. He was one of 15 children born to this union. He passed from this life January 22, 2010 at Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 58. While growing up, Jimmy lived in Guymon, Oklahoma, Blytheville, Arkansas, and Pryor, Oklahoma. He graduated high school at Vici, Oklahoma with the class of 1972. Jimmy was a member of Loneoak Baptist Church in Blytheville, Arkansas. He was baptized when he was around 30 at the First Baptist Church of Guymon Oklahoma. After moving from Arkansas, Jimmy attended the First Baptist Church in Pryor, Oklahoma. Jimmy worked as a truck driver for Hitch's Feed Lot in Guymon Oklahoma and part time with the road crew with his good friend Junior Davison. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing the guitar. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Josie and Betty Shrum; brothers, Robert Edgar Shrum, Irvin Lynn Shrum and Lloyd Paul Shrum; sisters, Willa Mae Ullrich and Ann Pearl Huckins. Those left to cherish his memory are brothers, Raymond Arthur Shrum of Pryor, Oklahoma, Tommy Joe Shrum of Forgan, Oklahoma, Floyd Wayne Shrum of Blytheville, Arkansas, Elvis Eugene Shrum of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Henry (Hank) Shrum of Austin, Texas, and Charlie T. Shrum of Joplin, Missouri; sisters, Wanda Ester Hecht of Camargo, Oklahoma, Betty Louise Coleman of Beaver, Oklahoma, and Sylvia Sue Shrum of Joplin, Missouri; 20 nieces, 16 nephews, other family and many dear friends.
