JoAnna Peard, 87 year old resident of Vici, OK, passed from this life on June 20, 2020.  JoAnna was born October 28, 1932 to Joseph Alexander and Letha Winona (Balfour) Peard in Camargo, OK.  She attended Vici Schools graduating with the class of 1950.  JoAnna married Bill Burton and to this union a son, Joseph, was born. In 1954 JoAnna married Robert Harding and three daughters were born Teresa, Maria, and Darla.  JoAnna lived in California, Virginia, Texas and Florida before returning to Oklahoma in 1971.

JoAnna worked as a social worker.  She enjoyed writing and reading.  She was a member of multiple organizations including the Writers of the Purple Sage, OK Writers Federation, St. Vincent de Paul Society, board member at the shelter in Woodward, board member of Cowboy Story Tellers Assoc., and the Turner Club.  She was a volunteer for the Salvation Army and wrote for the Vici paper.  She was baptized into the Catholic church and attended St. Peter Catholic Church in Woodward.

JoAnna is preceded in death by her parents Letha and Joseph Peard, daughter Darla Harding, two sisters Twila Nix and Leah Kay Miller, son-in-law Donald Noreuil, and granddaughter Mali Dalrymple.

She is survived by her son Joseph Burton and wife Susan of Woodward, OK; two daughters Maria Hall of Vici, OK, and Teresa Noreuil of Woodward, OK; sister Willa June Peard; seven grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchildren; two aunts; many nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
