Virginia Joan (Cunningham) Ladd, daughter of Forrest Glen Cunningham and Francis Faye (Wallace) Cunningham began her earthly journey on March 11, 1933 in Liberal, KS.  She was called to her heavenly home on December 18, 2022 in Enid, OK. at the age of 89 years, 9 months and 7 days.  Joan grew up on the family farm southeast of Vici, OK. with her brother Gerald and her sisters Shirley, Glendene and Alicia.  She attended Vici Public Schools graduating with the class of 1952.

On June 8, 1952 in the home of her parents and her Grandpa Rollin Cunningham officiating,  Joan was united in marriage to the love of her life, Jerry Ladd.  Their sixty five years together was spent on the farm east of Vici where they were blessed with three children, Connie, Jay and Ricky.  Joan was a devoted homemaker, farm wife and mother, always seeing to the needs of her family. She treasured time spent with her family and grandchildren.

In 1961 Jerry began a custom harvesting business and it involved the entire family.  For over thirty years the family and hired hands traveled from Texas to Montana.  Joan cooked the meals, washed clothes, ran errands and did whatever else was necessary to make the harvest run a success.  The days were long, the work was hard and the memories of those years will always be cherished.

Joan was baptized in the Vici Baptist Church at a young age and she enjoyed the fellowship of lifelong friends by attending services at the Vici General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn.  She was a kind and caring mother, grandmother, sister and friend that will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents Glen and Faye Cunningham, her beloved husband Jerry Ladd, two sisters Shirley Cunningham and Glendene Canning, brother in law Kenneth Canning, sister in law Lola Cunningham and other loved ones.

Her memory will be cherished by her children, Connie Felder of Woodward, OK., Jay Ladd and wife Rhonda of Mutual, OK. and Ricky Ladd and wife Carla of Vici, OK.  Grand children and great grands, Jessica Brown and husband Steve and their children Whitney, Kelvin, Tanner, Courtney and Walker, Aron Felder and wife Rachel and their children Gracie and Peyton,  Russell Ladd and wife Becky and their children Mackenzie and Caleb, Christopher Ladd and wife Emily and their children Micha and Isla, Casandra Oakes and husband Kason and their children Eason, Jace and Isaac, Veronica Krause and husband Drew and their children Fletcher, Aria and Landon,  Austin Ladd, Brent Ladd and wife Melody, April Ladd, Justin Ladd and wife Chasity and their children Asher and Ezra and two more great grandbabies are on the way.  Her brother Gerald Cunningham of Vici, OK. and her sister Alicia Wemmer and husband Bob of Colorado Springs, CO., nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
