Joan Ellen Megli passed from this life on February 24, 2012 at the age of 75. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on June 26, 1936 to Daniel and Nancy (Tonge) King. She grew up in Salt Lake area and the family later moved to Wichita, Kansas where she attended high school.

On October 25, 1955 Joan was united in marriage to Thurman Sidney Megli in Wichita. They were blessed with two children; Wendi and Rocky. The family moved to Putnam, Oklahoma in 1960 where they made their home until moving to Taloga, Oklahoma in 1979.

Joan was a talented woman and had an eye for interior decorating. She worked for a time hanging wallpaper and painting. She was also very creative and enjoyed sewing, painting ceramics and embroidery work. She liked to collect porcelain dolls as well.

Joan was a loving mother who enjoyed taking care of her family. She was honored as "Mother of the Year" by the Custer FHA.

Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Thurman on March 15, 2003; parents, Daniel and Nancy King and her sister, Nancy Karber. Family members remaining to cherish her memory are her children, Wendi Mudd and husband Richard of Rogers, Arkansas, and son, Rocky Megli of Taloga, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Ashlee Mudd, Cory Megli, Nathan Mudd and Devin Mudd; great-grandson, Jacob Megli; eleven nieces, seventeen nephews, other family and a host of friends.
