Obituary

Joan Ida Webster, an 83-year-old resident of Woodward, OK, passed from this life on March 8, in Woodward. Joan Ida Rule was born August 20, 1940, to Clifford Rule and Jeanette Rule in Peasleeville, NY.  She attended school and graduated in Plattsburg, NY.  She stayed and worked in the area until she was 23 when she married Harold Webster who was stationed there while serving in the US Air Force. On June 1, 1963, she married Harold and to this union three children were born Dale, Julie, and William. While Harold served in the US Air Force, Joan worked and raised children all over the world including Omaha, NB; San Antonio, TX; Madrid, Spain; and Clovis, NM. After Harold retired from the Service, Joan and the family settled down in Shattuck, OK, where her children all finished High School.  During these years she worked several jobs, including Kough's Department Store and several years as a cook for the Shattuck Public Schools.  Besides working and raising a family Joan enjoyed spending time with close friends, sewing, quilting, and playing bingo.
Joan is preceded in death by her parents, sister Anita (Rule) Carden, and her loving husband of over 50 years, Harold.
She is survived by two sons, Dale Webster and wife Sharon of Woodward, OK, and William Webster and wife Jamie of Loomis, CA; daughter Julie (Webster) Sneed and husband John of Etoile, TX; brothers, David Rule of IO, Edward Rule and wife Wanda of NC, Allen Rule and Ann of NY, brother Mike Rule of VT, Adrian Rule of NY, Clifton Rule and wife Lynn of IN; brother-in-law Jim Carden; eight grandchildren Steven Webster, Rebecca (Webster) Nelson, John Snead Jr., Melissa Christian, Madison Sneed, Jacob Webster, Taylor Webster, Lucas Webster; two great grandchildren Aiden Thompson and Kristine Thompson; many nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends. Joan made the most of her 83 years.  She would have liked to express some special thanks for the loving, end of life care she received from Assured Home Health, Traditions Hospice, and Vanessa Lucero.
