JoAnn Berry, long time Gage resident, passed from this life Thursday, September 16, 2010 at the Plantation Village Nursing Center in Altus, Oklahoma. She was 79 years of age. JoAnn was born February 10, 1931 to Harman Albert "Dutch" and Belva May Haynes Harms in Ault, Colorado.
JoAnn grew up in Gage, Oklahoma and graduated from Gage High School in 1948. She was united in marriage to Robert Eugene "Bob" Berry on March 12, 1950. The couple lived in Hawaii briefly while Bob served his country. They then moved to Kansas for two years before moving to Gage, Oklahoma where they made their home.
JoAnn was active in farming and ranching. For fourteen years she and her husband Bob owned and operated the Gage Cattle and Feed Company. She was a member and attended the First Baptist Church in Gage, Oklahoma.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Berry; parents, Dutch and Belva Harms; brother, Bill and sister, Jean.
She is survived by her sisters, Betty Creager of Lubbock, Texas and Ethel Miller of Gage, Oklahoma; sister-in-law Marilyn Riley and husband Leon of Brownwood, Texas; special friends, Barbara Biddy and husband Don of Burns Flat, Oklahoma and their children, James Biddy and sons, Trey and Jake of Fort Cobb, Oklahoma and Kristin Ramirez and husband Shawn and their son, Payson of Blair, Oklahoma; nieces and nephews, other family and many dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gage Memorial Cemetery.
