Obituary

Ralph Joel "Joey" White, born in Woodward, Oklahoma on October 10, 1969, to Roy Ellis and Karen Sue White, left an indelible mark on the lives he touched. Growing up in Woodward, and baptized as a baby, Joey had a strong faith in God. His spirit was marked by a genuine warmth that endeared him to all who knew him. Joey had a very close bond with his brothers, Eddie (Marna), Benji (Lori) and his sister Franci.  Joey was blessed with two additional siblings later in life, Justin Arnold (Brittany) and Lyndsi Arnold.  His childhood was filled with adventure, friendships, and a love for learning.  In 1989 he graduated from Sharon- Mutual High School, where he was voted class favorite.  Joey spent many years working at United Supermarket in Woodward and developed a heart for service during his interaction with others.  These formative years shaped his character and laid the foundation for a life devoted to others.

Joey moved to Enid, OK, in 2007 where he dedicated himself to service, first at Pioneer Telephone, where he later retired, and then to Enid Public Schools. It was in Enid where Joey's heart found its home when he met the love of his life, Adina White. Their union on September 17, 2022, in Woodward, OK, solidified a chapter of beautiful love that was filled with laughter and cherished memories.

Joey leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. He is survived by his wife and best friend, Adina, whose unwavering support was the cornerstone of his happiness. He is also survived by his children: son Braden and wife Bella of Mustang, OK; son Hunter Childs and fiancée Lexi Hemphill of Yukon, OK; daughter Haleigh Lingenfelter and husband Tanner of Enid, OK; daughter Hudsyn Childs and son Hagen Childs, both of Enid, OK. Joey's heart grew even bigger with the addition of his two granddaughters, Nora White and Hadley Lingenfelter.  They brought immeasurable joy to his life. Joey is also survived by his siblings, many nieces, nephews, other family and a lifetime of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Ellis and Karen Sue White, and his grandparents, Ralph & Mary Peil and Eddie & Lorraine Arnold.

Joey's passions were as varied as they were contagious. From cheering on OSU football to mastering the green on golf courses, to coaching basketball and from engaging in spirited cornhole tournaments to the freedom of the open road on his motorcycle, Joey embraced life with unparalleled enthusiasm. Yet, amidst his many pursuits, Joey's proudest achievements were his family and friends. His infectious smile, warm embrace, and boundless generosity endeared him to all. Joey was the BEST hugger!

On February 26, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer, Joey rode off into the sunset surrounded by the love of his cherished family. Joey has left big shoes to fill along with a legacy that will last for generations.  His spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were privileged to know him.
