IN LOVING MEMORY OF
John Wesley
Arnett
November 9, 1970 – May 4, 2024
John Wesley Arnett, age 53, passed away on May 4, 2024, at his home in Fargo, Oklahoma. John was born on November 9, 1970, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to Jerrel Dean Arnett and Margaret Isabel (Garlitz) Arnett.
He grew up in Farmington, New Mexico, where he graduated with the class of 1990. John lived in various places across the Southwest, including Durango, Colorado; Taos, New Mexico; Bryan's Corner, Oklahoma; and Woodward, Oklahoma, before settling in Fargo.
John worked on yards and enjoyed tinkering with tools and small projects. He had a passion for jigsaw puzzles and cherished his pet chihuahua, Peanut. A frequent visitor to the local Dollar General, John loved going on shopping trips with his mom. His warm personality and enthusiasm for the simple things in life made him a cherished member of his community.
John is preceded in death by his father, Jerrel Arnett, his paternal grandparents, John and Lois Arnett, and his maternal grandparents, Wesley and Louise Garlitz. He is survived by his beloved mother, Margaret Arnett; his sister, Tina Hallmark, and her husband, Bill; his brother, James Arnett; his niece, Amber Dietrick, and her partner, Nick; and his nephew, Ryan Hallmark.
At this time, the family is not planning any services. Shaw Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Fargo Fire Department, Ellis County Sheriff's Office, and the Ellis County EMT for their assistance and support during this time of loss.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests honoring John's memory by spending time with loved ones, enjoying a good puzzle, or giving a pet a little extra love—just as John would have liked.
