Obituary

John Quinlin Inselman was born in Shattuck, OK on October 14, 1935 to Juanita (Brown) Inselman and John Inselman. He departed this life May 2, 2014 at Westhaven Nursing Home in Stillwater, OK. Quinlin began grade school in a one room country school not far from his family's ranch and graduated from Arnett High School in 1953. He attended college at Northwestern State College in Alva, OK. There he was a four year gymnast and captain of the team, graduating in 1960 with a degree in Physical Education.
After graduating college Quinlin taught school in Colorado Springs, CO. In 1965 he returned to the family ranch south of Arnett. In 1966 he was united in marriage to Barbara New from Harmon, OK. Quinlin and Barbara had three sons: John Quinlin Jr. (JR), Michael Dale and Rudy Alan.
In 1993 Quinlin purchased land in Holdenville, OK where he and JR ran cattle and operated Big Q Pawn Shop. He resided there until he became ill and moved to Stillwater to be near Mike and his family.
Quinlin loved to hunt and fish, making numerous camping trips to Colorado with his sons and friends. He also loved car racing, whether it be watching his sons and their friends on a dirt track, or Nascar on TV.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Juanita, and son Rudy. He is survived by son JR and wife Tena and their four children; Logan, Macy, Allyson and Cooper of Holdenville, OK, son Mike and wife Ashley and their three children; Josey Quinn and Bristol Lynne of Perkins, OK and Layne of Norman, OK, and daughter-in-law Hope of Jones, OK.
