Obituary

John Thomas Cook passed from this life on January 26, 2008 at Enid, OK after a short battle with cancer. Tom was born at Chester, OK on April 14, 1940 to John and Beulah (Ake) Cook. The family lived in the Woodward and Vici, OK communities. Tom attended Vici Public School, graduating with the class of 1958. Tom continued his education at Northwestern Oklahoma State University.

In 1960 Tom joined the United States Air Force. On December 2, 1962 he married Sally Rieth at Woodward, OK. Their union was blessed with two children, June and Alan. The family lived in various communities in Oklahoma. Tom currently made his home in Taloga, OK. After many years of work throughout the state in the oilfields, Tom retired.

Tom enjoyed playing the guitar, reading, fishing, working with and studying electronics, playing cards and chess. His favorite time was spent with his grandchildren. Tom accepted Christ and was baptized as a young man in the Church of the Nazarene in Vici.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, John and Beulah Cook. He is survived by his son, Alan Cook and wife Laquita of Choctaw, OK; daughter, June Cook of Woodward, OK; grandchildren, Carlie, Cori, Dylan, Jonathan; brother, Tim Cook and wife Gloria of Vici, OK; sisters, Nancy Vaughan and husband Dennis of Harmon, OK and LaRay Carman and husband Tom of Camargo, OK; by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other family and a host friends.
