J.V. (Bub) Wagnon Jr. was born August 15, 1928 to his parents Jack and Eunice Kerby Wagnon, at their home, south of Harmon, Oklahoma. He spent a portion of his childhood in that area, but also lived in Colorado, New Mexico, the panhandle of Oklahoma, as well as the state of Kansas. The family moved back to the Arnett area where he finished high school, graduating with the class of 1946. Bub married Zella May "Sass" Creswell in June of 1948. Bub served in the U.S. Army from 1953-1955. He was honorably discharged and returned home where he began working in the oilfield. On August 14, 1965, Bub married Margaret Ann Shaw. They began a ranching operation which they maintained together, until Margaret's death, in 2010. Bub loved his cattle, horses and a good bird dog. Quail hunting was his biggest hobby. Bub was a loyal member of the Arnett American Legion. He was very active through the years promoting the annual rodeo. In his later years he enjoyed going to the horse races at Remington Park. Bub will be remembered by many by his one of a kind laugh and "hot" temper!
