Julia Diahann Melton was born on November 30, 1968 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Lesley Dwayne and Thelma Rea (Henderson) Marler. She entered into rest on March 3, 2011, east of Vici, Oklahoma at the age of 42 years, 3 months and 3 days.

Julia was the youngest of four children and on August 19, 1984, at the age of 15, she was baptized by Brother Bill Dobbs into the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn at Shields, Oklahoma.

Julia graduated from Southeast High School in Oklahoma City in 1987 and in February of 1989, while at a young kids singing, she met Timothy Edward Melton of Sacramento, California. Five months later, on July 22, 1989, they were united in marriage at Shields, Oklahoma by Brother Lester Arnold.

Instead of going on a honeymoon, the newlywed couple packed up their belongings and drove to Sacramento, California so Tim could go back to work. They lived in Sacramento for four years and during that time they had their first two children. On May 15, 1990, their firstborn son, Jordan Isreal, was born in Sacramento and two years later their daughter, Reanna Joyce was born on March 30, 1992 in Oklahoma City. In 1993, Tim and Julia moved back to Oklahoma so that Julia could be around her parents. During the next 13 years, they were blessed with five more children, four sons and one daughter, Jacob Tyler, Jessalyn Marie, Joseph Timothy, Nolen Alvin and Jaidan Allen. During their marriage, they went through many trials but they always put their faith in the Lord and trusted in God.

Julia was the rock of the family. She loved to be with the brethren and every time there was church, she would get her kids ready and even drag them out of bed in order to teach them the faith.

On September 2, 2006, with the help of the brethren, Tim and Julia packed up their belongings and moved to Vici, Oklahoma trusting that the Lord would provide. Only a few weeks later, the Lord blessed them with a house. On February 2, 2008, the family was given one more blessing with the birth of another son, Nathaniel Dwayne. In March of 2009, the Lord once again provided a house in Cestos, Oklahoma, east of Vici, where they currently live.

Julia loved to cook but as she became too weak to stand, she sat at the dining room table and put together jigsaw puzzles with her children. Spending time with her husband and her children was what she loved to do the most and through her faith, Julia always made the best out of everything and always had a smile.

Before God took her home, Julia was able to watch her three oldest children give their lives to God in baptism and now she is able to watch all her kids at once no matter where they are.

Julia was preceded in death by her parents, Dwayne and Rea Marler. Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 21 years, Timothy Melton; sons, Jordan, Jacob, Joseph, Nolen, Jaidan and Nathaniel Melton; daughters, Reanna and Jessalyn Melton, all of Vici, Oklahoma; brother, Lesley Marler and wife Linda of Choctaw, Oklahoma; sisters, Rita and husband Don of Newalla, Oklahoma and Denise and husband Gary of Yukon, Oklahoma, numerous family members, friends and a host of brethren.
