IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kasey Scott
Kennedy
August 15, 1990 – March 3, 2020
Kasey Scott Kennedy, son of Scott and Sue (Nance) Kennedy was born at Woodward, OK on August 15, 1990. He entered his heavenly home on March 3, 2020 at the age of 29 at Vici, OK.
In his early years, playtime was all about wearing ninja turtle bands, red boots and riding his spring horse a million miles while watching the movie Junglebook. That was until he found Lane Frost and the movie 8 Seconds, then a million more miles took place while wearing Uncle Andy's old cowboy hat. He was an ornery, typical boy while growing up in the Vici community. He attended Vici Public Schools and in Jr. High and High School he was a fierce competitor on the basketball court and the baseball field. He was a pitcher with a wicked curve ball and played second base on the state semi-finalist team both spring and fall his Senior year. He was voted as one of the class clowns of his 2009 graduating class and was a twelve-year graduate of Vici High School. Following graduation he attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, OK. obtaining a bachelor's degree in business.
He returned to Vici and went from part time to full time employment at the Iochem plant east of town. While attending a ballgame in Vici, Kasey noticed Katelyn Morris across the crowd but didn't gather the courage to talk to her until Scott ask him if he had noticed the pretty neighbor girls. He messaged her welcoming the family to the neighborhood and their love story began. After dating for a year Kasey proposed and while Katelyn was busy planning their wedding, Kasey, with the help of Martin and Jane Jones, was busy remodeling the house that would become their home. Kasey and Katelyn were united in marriage on October 17, 2015 at Everett Hutchens farm. Kasey never let a day go by without telling Katelyn 'I Love You'. She introduced him to the Colorado mountains and he was hooked, spending as much time as possible there. He was a member of the Vici General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn. He was baptized on May 15, 2019 along with his wife by a man who always said "Kasey is the son I never got to have," Brother Jerry Hale, whom he had spent countless hours shooting archery, betting cokes and debating who was the better shot and talking about the faith. Throughout his life, no matter what, Kasey never forgot his number one goal was to have the faith and make it to Heaven.
His special interests included painting, hunting, fishing with the people he loved most, archery competitions where he was a 3-time state champion and any activity he was doing with Katelyn. He enjoyed hanging out with their dogs, Gunner and Lilly, watching Andy Griffith and fishing videos on TV, sending movie quotes back and forth to his friends and visiting Brethren.
Kasey loved his sisters and he took the role of being the big brother very seriously. He was a loving husband, son, and friend who always looked for the kid that was being left out and made sure they were okay. His mischievous smile and laugh, kind heart and gentle spirit will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
He is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Leland Kennedy and Clarence Nance. His memory will be forever cherished by his wife, Katelyn Kennedy, his parents, Scott and Sue Kennedy, his sisters, Kelsie and Kenzi Kennedy and his grandmothers, Wilma Jean Kennedy and Alveta Nance all of Vici, OK. His father and mother-in-law, Jerry and Valerie Morris and family of Corn, OK., numerous aunts and uncles, a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
