Katherine Mozelle (Blackmon) Johnson, daughter of Jason and Ina (Reeves) Blackmon was born October 8, 1948 at Erick, OK.  Fondly known as "Kathy," she grew up in the Erick community and attended Erick Public School graduating with the class of 1966.  Following graduation she moved to Oklahoma City where she was employed at the J.C. Penney Beauty Salon.  On October 3, 1969, at the Faith Tabernacle Assembly of God Church, Kathy was united in marriage to Darrell Johnson.  The newlyweds made their first home in Gage, OK. and later in Woodward, OK.  Two daughters, Katrina and Clarrissa blessed their home.

Kathy became an integral part of a 40 year Mom and Pop team operating Johnson's Good Samaritan Funeral Home with locations in Woodward, Shattuck and Booker, TX.  She was a part of numerous aspects of the funeral home business and her singing ability was often requested at services.  Side by side, Darrell and Kathy dedicated their lives to serving the good folks of Northwest OK. and the Texas Panhandle.  They were active in the Woodward community and the First Assembly of God Church.  Together they earned the Pursuit of Excellence award presented by the National Funeral Directors Association.  They were fortunate to have faithful employees the last few years of operation, allowing them the freedom to enjoy traveling.  In 2008 they retired and moved to Oklahoma City.  Following the loss of Darrell in 2011, Kathy returned to reside in Woodward.

On September 21, 2020 at Oklahoma City, Kathy passed from this life at the age of 71.  She is reunited with her parents, Jason and Ina Blackmon, her beloved husband, Darrell and their son, Dallas Wayne.  Her three sisters, Roberta Schwandt, Dorthy Martin and Patricia Jeffcoat, her stepmother, Ola Blackmon and other dear relatives.

Kathy was a loving Mother and Nana whose memory will be cherished by her daughters, Katrina McDowell and husband Shawn of Mutual, OK. and Clarissa Simpson and husband Ian of Satellite Beach, FL.   Her grandchildren, Kamryn McDowell, Thad Bradley, Zach Bradley, Caleb Bradley, Francesca Simpson and five great grands, other relatives and friends.

Kathy will be remembered by all who knew her for her keen sense of fashion and her gracious demeanor.
