Obituary

Kenneth Gann, 83, passed away at 8:40 am at the Vici Nursing Home in Vici, Oklahoma.  Kenn or Kenny was born on June 20, 1940 in Boise City, Oklahoma to M. S. "Sebren" and Pearl "Weaver" Gann.  He attended Boise City schools until he graduated in 1958.  He was baptized at the First Baptist Church in Boise City on December 7, 1958.  He helped with harvest from the time he was 13 until he enlisted into the Army on September 5, 1962.  After an injury in 1965, he was transferred to the Army Reserve where he was honorably discharged on September 4, 1968 with an E4 ranking.  He received his Expert Badge for rifle and machine gun during the time he was stationed at Fort Campbell, Kentucky.

After his time on active duty, Kenn worked a multitude of jobs which included driving buses for Continental Trailways.  While working for Trailways, he transported football, basketball, baseball and softball teams as well as cheerleaders, coaches, bands and choirs for high schools, colleges and churches from all over Texas and Oklahoma.  Just before Greyhound bought out Continental Trailways, he decided to try his hand at running his own charter line with the help of a partner.  After things didn't work out, he worked for Gotta Go Express and retired from Overland Charters out of Ft. Worth, Texas.  Through his work, he traveled all of the 50 states and Canada.  Of all of his travels, his most memorable trips were with the football teams(especially Higgins High School-Higgins, Texas), the church ski trips to Colorado and a choir that always requested "Mr. Trailways" for their trips.

Kenn was married 3 times in his lifetime.  The first 2 marriages gave him 5 children:  Todd Daniel, GayCheree, Karl Sebren, an unnamed son and Shannon Lucile.  Those children gave him 19 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.  He is also survived by 2 nephews:  Brad and Sharon Gann of Monument, Colorado and Roger and Margaret Gann of Edmond, Oklahoma.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brother(Nathan Gann), sister-in-law(Alice Adams), a grandson, most of his cousins and all of his uncles and aunts.

Kenn is being cremated and his remains will be placed at the Boise City cemetery at a later date.  If you would like to join the family in doing a moment of remembrance or prayer and the release of a balloon from where ever you are, the family and friends will be doing the same from where ever they are on Friday October 20th at 7 pm central time.
