Kevin Louis Lopez, beloved husband to Michelle Kay (Perky) Lopez and loving son of Kevin Leandro Lopez and Tina Leann (Halderman) Lopez, was born in Woodward, OK, on March 27, 1987.  He passed from this life January 8, 2023 in Woodward, OK, at the age of 35. He was very close to his parents, calling or visiting them on nearly a daily basis. Kevin grew up in the Vici Community and was a twelve-year graduate from Vici Public Schools graduating with the Vici Senior Class of 2005.  During his school days, he was a Special Olympics volunteer and played baseball. After High School, Kevin attended Garden City Community College in Garden City, Kansas where he obtained his Associates Degree as a John Deere Mechanic. He worked as a mechanic for John Deere, then became a mechanic for Crescent Services where he eventually worked up to be an account manager. Working in the oilfield took him to many different locations from Fairview, OK to Midland, TX and everywhere in between. Although his main occupation was not as a mechanic anymore, he never stopped working on tractors. Kevin's favorite occupation was the position of plant operator for MPLX. Not only did he enjoy the work he did, but more so he enjoyed the people with whom he worked.

On June 25, 2016 in Okeene, OK, Kevin was united in marriage to the love of his life Michelle Kay Perky. Everyone who met Kevin knew how much he loved Michelle by the way his face lit up when he spoke about her. Their love for each other was undeniable and they truly loved doing everything together. They made their home in Vici, OK, where Kevin and Michelle enjoyed cooking and grilling together when they entertained family and friends. He enjoyed listening to a wide variety of music and was always ready to go fishing or golfing, but his true passion was traveling.  Kevin and Michelle enjoyed many trips to Disneyland and Disney World, often taking family and friends along with them.  In recent years, they took many trips together to Cancun, Mexico and were blessed to travel to Madrid, Spain.

In 1987 Kevin was baptized in San Diego, CA.  He was a member of the St. Thomas Apostle Catholic Church in Seiling, OK, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister and was a member of the Parish Council. Not a day went by where Kevin didn't read from his Bible before he went to sleep, he even made it a priority to make sure he packed it in his suitcase any time he left home.

Those who knew Kevin knew he put his all into everything he did, he was going to have fun along the way, and he would always eat the best food. Kevin had a huge heart of gold, always looking to take care of others and help out where he could. Oftentimes, he would ask Michelle to bake cinnamon rolls he could take to work to share with the guys in celebration or as a thank you. He always had a way to brighten the day and make a stressful situation better. Kevin was a hard worker and was always looking for ways to be able to put back money for his next vacation, including cutting firewood to burn in their wood stove during the winter. He also never met a stranger and could win people over very easily. If he met someone for the first time, he would more than likely know someone in common with them.  Age meant nothing to Kevin, he was able to relate to children just as easily as he could relate to others much older than him. He will be greatly missed by all that were blessed to know him.

Kevin is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Melvin and Barbara Halderman, his paternal grandpa Joseph Louis Lopez, and other loved ones.

His memory will be cherished by his wife Michelle Lopez of Vici, OK, his parents Kevin and Tina Lopez of Vici, OK, his paternal grandma Myrna Lester of Lakeside, CA, his in-laws, aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends who were like family.

A dinner for the family will be held at the Vici Chamber Community Building.

The meat, potatoes and bread are being provided by the Seiling Catholic Church.
