Lannon Theodore Jones was born on November 14, 1939 in Orange County, California to Henry Theodore (Shorty) Jones and Ula Mae (Boatman) Jones. He passed from this life on February 2, 2013 at the age of 73.

The family moved to Camargo, Oklahoma in 1944 where Lanny attended Camargo Public Schools. Lanny graduated in 1958. He enlisted in the United States Army Reserve and was honorably discharged in November of 1964. Lanny went on wheat harvest in North Dakota where he met Wanda Heinitz. They lived in Vici, Camargo, and Mooreland where they raised their family. Lanny worked for MKO Bridge Gang (Katy Railroad), Leo Smith Filling Station, as a tool pusher in the oilfield and as a salesman for E & H Transfer.

Lanny lived with his son in Mooreland until October 2012 when he moved to the Vici Nursing Home. He enjoyed his time there and was loved by everyone. Lanny loved spending time with his children. His favorite pastime was going to the lake with his family to fish and camp and he enjoyed hunting with his son. The greatest joy of his life was his grandson Trey. He always picked Trey up from school to buy him a slushie and snack. They would drive the country roads together.
