Larry L Belew was born on April the 27th, 1943 to Garland Marcus ‘Budley’ Belew and Edna Ellen (Payne) Belew and six minutes later he welcomed his twin brother, Jerry into this new world. Larry was always quick to remind Jerry that he was the older! Larry was the third child of eight and he departed this world on April 28th, 2026 at the age of 83 years and one day while a resident of the VA Center in Norman, OK. During his youth, he learned the value of hard work. He and Jerry mowed yards and carried the local newspapers which included the Daily Oklahoman, the Enid Morning News, the Grit and the Vici Beacon. He graduated from Vici High School with the class of 1961. In July 1965 he was inducted into the U.S. Army infantry and after basic training he was deployed to Vietnam. During his tour of duty he attained the rank of PFC E-3. He received numerous awards including the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Infantryman Badge, Sharpshooter Badge and the Combat Infantry Badge. He received his honorable discharge September 15, 1967. He returned to Oklahoma and over the years resided in Yukon, El Reno and Mustang where he was employed in various positions in the oil and gas industry. Larry was preceded in death by his parents Budley and Edna Belew; two sisters, Jettie Ann McIntosh and Darlene Belew, two brothers; Garland Belew and Ricky Belew and other loved ones. Those left to cherish his memory are his siblings, sisters; Charlene White and Dolores Cleveland and her husband Dick and brother; Jerry Belew and his wife Anna, other relatives and friends.
