Larry Ray Miller, 78-year-old resident of Broken Arrow, OK, passed from this life on October 19, 2019. Larry was born on February 23, 1941 in Shattuck, OK to John Miller and Ethel Harms. Larry lived and attended school at Gage, OK, graduating in 1959. Afterwards he attended college at Northwestern Oklahoma State University graduating in 1963. On July 30, 1960, Larry was married to the love of his life Marjorie Sue Flaherty at the First Christian Church in Gage. To this union was born a son, C. Bruce, and two daughters, Kristin and Lori. The family lived in Alva until 1963 before moving to Hennessey, OK, moving again in 1965 to Byers, CO. In 1970, the family returned to Gage and remained there until 1987 when they moved to Lusby, MD. They lived there for 22 years before moving back to Gage in 2009. Larry moved for the final time in 2018, when he relocated to Broken Arrow.
Larry had many talents working as a teacher, a wireline engineer, and as a business owner building custom homes. Larry was a member of the First Christian Church, baptized in May 1960 at 19 years old in the Gage Artesian Lake by Pastor John Ihle. He was a craftsman in every sense of the work and enjoyed wood working, leatherworking, and gardening. Larry loved spending time with his wife and family. He was Marjorie's righthand man and travel partner. When he did sit down, he enjoyed watching westerns. He was devoted to his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Marjorie, a loving and attentive father (Best Dad EVER), and adoring grandfather and great grandfather.
Preceding Larry in death are his father John S. Miller, mother Ethel P. Miller, mother-in-law Evelyn M. Flaherty, father-in-law Bill Flaherty, brother-in-law Henry Peer, brother-in-law Bruce Shapton, and nephew Stewart Shapton.
Larry will be loving remembered by his sister Phillis Peer, his wife, Marjorie of 59 years, and their children C. Bruce (Carolyn) Miller, Kristin (Chad) Wiard, and Lori (Thaddeus) Shepherd. Larry will also be fondly remembered by his and Marjorie's 10 grandchildren, Chelsea (Jeramy) Pappas, Katrina (Vadim) Narudsky, Tiffany Miller, MacKenzie (Matthew) Thorne, Benjamin (Minnie) Miller, Timothy Miller, Victoria Shepherd, Olivia Shepherd, Preston Shepherd, and Samantha Shepherd and 6 great-grandchildren, Evalyn Narudsky, Alexander Narudsky, Apryll Miller, Tyler Miller, Samuel Narudsky, and Lukas Narudsky, and brothers and sisters-in-laws Patricia Shapton; Christine (Dewayne) Rymer; Mike (Linda) Flaherty; Timothy (Kathy) Flaherty and many nieces, nephews, and a host of loved ones and friends.
