Lavirda Lucille Murry Collar was born on November 20, 1919 at Harmon, Oklahoma to Bruce and Bessie Shurtz Murry and passed from this life on July 24, 2007 at the Shattuck Nursing Center at the age of 87 years 8 months and 4 days.

Lavirda grew up on a farm in the Harmon area and attended school in the Parkman area. She married Harold Louis Collar on October 10, 1936 in Woodward, Oklahoma. To this union two children were born, Twilla Eileen and Louis Bruce.

Lavirda and Harold spent 1 year in Portland, Oregon, before returning to Arnett to establish their home. Lavirda worked at the Circle C Café and Motel in the late 1950's and in the 1960's owned the White Way Café in Arnett. She was baptized on April 28, 1974 in the Arnett United Methodist Church.

She enjoyed gardening and cooking, her grandchildren and spending special times with Deacon, her great-grandson.

She was preceded in death be her husband Harold Collar (1973); her parents Charles and Bessie Murry; one brother Wayne Murry and two sisters Geraldine Allard and Beatrice Coram.

Mrs. Collar is survived be her daughter Twilla Butler and husband Gordon of Theodosia, Missouri; one son Louis Collar and wife Wanda of Arnett, Oklahoma; one sister Aldine Grice of Waynesville, Missouri; two grandsons Larry Butler of Cuba, Missouri and Scott Butler of San Antonio, Texas, seven great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, several nieces and nephews, other family and a host of friends.
