Lela was 94 years of age. Lela attended school at Pinkston for eight years, and then attended Arnett High School where she graduated in 1937. In 1938 Lloyd and Lela were married.

Lela was active in Eastern Star and received a 50-year membership pen. She also belonged to DAR, Home Extension Club, and served on the Board of Oklahoma Health Systems for many years. She was most proud of serving as Mayor of Arnett for six years. Being a diversified adult, she also competed and won a race in the Woodward Powder Puff Derby. All of these activities were performed while maintaining a busy work schedule as bookkeeper for Vincent Motors.

With the aid of a pressure cooker, Lela was called upon to prepare many meals in an instant for however many people her husband would bring home with him for lunch or dinner. With cooking experience, she won first place at the County Fair for her carrot cake and first place at the State Fair for her bread making.

Granny, as she was affectionately called by her grandchildren, made many wonderful quilts of which there were many benefactors, including (but not limited to) her 4 children, 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren.

She was a good wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She was also a dedicated and loyal citizen of the town of Arnett, Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by her husband L. A. W. Vincent, Parents Dick and Jenny Miller; sister Loree Shultz, and brothers, Roy, Kay, Luther and Max Miller; daughters Lois Ann Word and Gayle Loree Smriga; and daughter-in-law Emily Vincent.
