Leon Manford Baldwin, aged 76, passed away on February 23, 2024, in Seiling, Oklahoma. He was born to Vessie and Iva (Yeatman) Baldwin on September 12, 1948, in Montrose, Colorado, and his journey through life was marked by hard work, love, and a deep connection to the land.
Leon spent his formative years in Montrose, Colorado, where he attended Montrose High School. Later, he became a dedicated father to his two children, Deanna and Steven. His family was his anchor, and his devotion to them was unwavering.
After spending his early years in Colorado, Leon eventually moved to Seiling, Oklahoma, where he carved out a life for himself and his family. He retired as a Dispatch at the Dewey County Barn, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and dedication to his community.
Leon found joy and solace in the simplicity of life. He was passionate about farming, hunting, and fishing, activities that allowed him to connect with nature and find peace in its embrace. His love for the outdoors became a source of inspiration for those around him.
Leon was preceded in death by his parents, Vessie and Iva Baldwin, as well as his sisters, Lillian Ake and Lois Moade. Although their physical presence is no longer with us, their memories will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved Leon.
He is survived by his children, Deanna (Baldwin) Smith of Montrose, Colorado, and Steven Baldwin of Montrose, Colorado. Additionally, he is remembered by his brother-in-law, Floyd Ake of Seiling, OK, and his sister, Louise Curry of Seiling, OK.
Leon leaves behind a legacy of love and family, evident in the six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren who will cherish the memories of their beloved grandfather. His impact on their lives will continue to resonate, a testament to the enduring power of familial bonds.
