Obituary

Lessly Wayne "Les" Blackwell, born on February 1, 1971, in Enid, Oklahoma, to Clyde Lessly and Lois Dean (Butler) Blackwell Starbuck, passed away on May 22, 2024, in Bonita Springs, Florida, at the age of 53. Les grew up in the Shattuck community alongside his sisters, Crystal and Vickie. In 1983, his mother married Tom Starbuck, and Les gained two stepbrothers, Lonnie and Tim Starbuck. Les attended Shattuck Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1989. Following his graduation, he joined the U.S. Army, where he honorably served his country for four years. After his military service, Les furthered his education at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, OK, where he attended pharmacy school.

Maintaining residences in both Oklahoma and Florida, Les established himself as an independent insurance professional known as a public adjuster. In his spare time, he enjoyed various outdoor activities, especially kayaking and fishing, and he had a deep love for plants. Les cherished his family and created many treasured memories with them.

Les is preceded in death by his grandparents, Bryce and Edna Butler, his stepfather, Tom Starbuck, and other loved ones. He is survived by his mother, Lois Starbuck of Gage, OK; his sisters, Crystal Sprague of Gage, OK, and Vickie Eller and her husband Shane of Woodward, OK; his stepbrothers, Tim Starbuck and his wife Krista of Alva, OK, and Lonnie Starbuck and his wife Dedra of Shattuck, OK; his nephews, Logan Matthews of Woodward, OK, and Ancyn Sprague of Gage, OK; his nieces, Rylee Sprague of Gage, OK, Abigail Eller of Woodward, OK. and Danielle Saylor and her husband Charles of Gage, OK; his aunts and uncles, Ben and Linda Long of Sand Springs, OK; Roy and Dena Butler of Craig, CO. and many other relatives and friends.

Les will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his dedication to his family, and the joy he brought to those around him.
