Obituary

Lester Earl Elliott was born on May 24, 1916 on the family farm to Stanley P. and Bertha (Rinner) Elliott. He passed from this life on June 11, 2009 and the age of 93. He spent his childhood working on the farm and attending the Sand Draw School, later attending Gage High School. Lester worked for the Word Ranch for a time, where he met Grace Sewell. They were married December 24, 1940 in Greer County, Oklahoma.

Lester served his country in the United States Army from January 29, 1942, attaining a rank of Private First Class before he was honorably discharged on October 29, 1945. He was stationed in Alaska for the majority of his enlisted time. Lester was a kind and caring man who often thought of returning to Alaska to visit. After he returned from the service, Lester and Grace made their home in the Gage, Oklahoma area and he ended up buying the family farm from his dad. Lester and Grace had a daughter Anita born November 18, 1948.

Lester was preceded in death by his wife Grace, his parents, six brothers, and two sisters.

Lester is survived by his daughter Anita and her husband Roger of Gage, Oklahoma, grandson Wayne Gonser and two great-grandchildren, Whitney and Jacob Gonser, all of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and grandson Jason Wait and great grand-daughter River Wait of Mooreland, Oklahoma, other family and a host of friends.
