Lester Joe Janzen, 70 year old resident of Woodward, OK, passed from this life on November 12, 2019 at the Oklahoma Veterans Center in Clinton, OK.  Lester was born August 19, 1949 to Elmer James Janzen and Betty Jo Martin in Mooreland, OK.  He grew up in Sharon, OK attending the Sharon public schools.  On April 24, 1969, Lester enlisted in the United States Army.  He served until April 1, 1975 and obtained the rank of SP4.

On August 14, 1976, Lester married Karla Kay Bauer in Vici, OK.  They established their home in Sharon, OK and later moved to Woodward, OK.  This union was blessed with two children Leslie James and Charles Robert.  Lester worked for the City of Woodward.  He was a heavy equipment operator responsible for the street maintenance in Woodward.  Lester was a member of the Sharon Baptist Church.

Lester is preceded in death by his father Elmer Janzen, grandparents Frank and Delia Janzen, and brother Harry Janzen.

He is survived by his wife of the home Karla Janzen; two sons Leslie James Janzen of Forest City, Iowa and Charles Robert Janzen of Woodward, OK; mother Betty Jo Wasmer; two brothers Leroy Janzen of Perry, OK and David Janzen of Colorado; one sister Cindy Rains of Arkansas; three grandchildren; extended family and a host of friends.
