Craig
June 6, 1995 – March 28, 2023
Levi John Craig, beloved son of Arthur "King" Craig, Jr. and Shannon (Harrel) Craig, began his earthly walk of 27 years, 9 months and 22 days on June 6, 1995 in Clinton, OK. On March 28, 2023 in Hobbs, N.M. his walk was completed. His love of family and his dry, witty sense of humor will be remembered and missed by all who knew him.
Levi grew up in the Leedey community and was a twelve year graduate of Leedey Public Schools. His school years were highlighted by his participation on the Academic Bowl team where he scored nearly 12,000 points in his career. He received numerous academic awards including, First All State Academic Bowl, State MVP Academic Bowl, All Conference three times, team MVP each year from 8 th grade through his Sr. year. The team was State Runner Up his Jr. year and placed 4 th at the state level his Sr. year. As a matter of fact, every academic team Levi was on made it to state. Following graduation he attended Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK. before accepting a position with Mewbourne Oil Co. and relocating to Hobbs, N.M.
He was always ready to learn and his special interests included strategy games, genealogy, cooking, cars, geology, blacksmithing, knives, music related trivia, debating any topic with anyone and most recently, learning German in anticipation of a trip to that country in the fall of 2023.
Levi was a very intelligent young man. He loved storytelling, traveling, spending time with his family and he was generous almost to a fault.
