Lillie Ann Fessler, 78, of Shattuck passed into the arms of her Lord on Saturday, March 7, 2015. Lillie was born on February 25, 1937 to Aubra and Florence (Fields) Coonfield in Gage. She grew up in the Bishop community of rural Ellis county where she went to school. Later, she attended Shattuck High School where she graduated with the Class of 1955. That summer she married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Gwin Fessler on June 5, 1955 in Shattuck. This union of forty three years lasted until Gwin's passing in October of 1998. During their wonderful time on this earth together, Lillie and Gwin lived in Shattuck where she was a homemaker, but still worked several side jobs cooking for the hospital and later Pizza Hut. Lillie was baptized in the late 1970's at Full Gospel Temple, which she and Gwin helped build. Later, she became a member of the First Christian Church of Woodward, where she attended all the choir practices to see her daughter sing becoming their unofficial mascot. Outside of church, Lillie's greatest love was watching the activities of her great nieces while they participated in area ball games and choir concerts.
In addition to her parents, Lillie was preceded in death by her husband, Gwin Fessler with whom she is now reunited in heaven.
Lillie's legacy of love will be left with her survivors: daughter, Lois Fessler of Shattuck; sister, Eva Mae Morgan of Shattuck; three brothers Ernie Coonfield of Follett, Hugh Coonfield and wife Pauline of Woodward, and Everett Coonfield and wife Eileen of Springdale, AR; as well as a host of nieces and nephews, their children, and a lifetime of friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, March 9, 2015 at the First Christian Church of Woodward (1316 9th St.) with Pastor Jeremy Skaggs presiding. Burial will follow at Gage Cemetery. Lillie's family have entrusted her care, services, and burial to director Luke Faires and the staff of Shaw Funeral Home of Shattuck.
