Obituary

Lois Irva (Pierce) Whitmarsh was born on April 23, 1928 in Clinton, OK to Dr. L.R. and Margaret (Schramling) Pierce. She was the youngest child. She had an older sister and brother who was overjoyed to have a baby sister. When she was little the family moved to Seiling, OK where Lois attended grade school through her junior year of high school. Lois had a wonderful childhood. Her sister was like a second mother to her taking her with her and her boyfriend on many dates. Her brother Roger would take her to many scary movies and other places. The family then moved to Vancouver, Washington where Lois graduated high school. The family moved back to Woodward, OK. Lois attended college at Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva, OK for one year.
In the summer of 1947 she was introduced to Dale Whitmarsh, they spent many dates walking to Chrystal Beach Park, and taking the train to Vici to meet Dale's family. On January 18, 1948 at her parent's place in Woodward she married the love of her life Dale Whitmarsh. Shortly after they married they moved to Colorado. In the spring of 1949 they were blessed with a son Byron Ray. Lois and Dale moved to Kansas where Dale attended college to become pastor, while in Kansas they were blessed again with a daughter Lora Louise. Lois and family would then move back to Oklahoma. In the fall of 1955 another daughter Margaret Lucille joined them. Lois moved a lot with Dale and their children. In 1961 their family was complete with their daughter Lisa Lynell.
Lois spent a lot of time playing the piano at many churches Dale pastored at, she also was a Sunday School Teacher. She was part of the Women's Ministry Group. Lois was baptized as a young child and was a member of the Nazarene Church of Vici. She enjoyed being a pastor's wife and a homemaker. Lois loved reading and spending time with her family. Family and church meant the world to her.
Lois would experience many tragic moments in her life from surviving the Dust Bowl, Woodward Tornado, a horrible car wreck and the death of her only son. Lois also had a lot of beautiful wonderful moments she and Dale were very happy when their daughters married and blessed them with seven grandchildren. Lois and Dale where overjoyed when some of their grandchildren had children making them very proud to have ten great grandchildren.
