Obituary

Lomas Nathalie (Fox) Hammack Harrel went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 7, 2025, with family by her side. She was born on November 12, 1933, to Floyd and Lois Fox in Leedey, Oklahoma and was raised alongside her three brothers: Floyd, Johnnie, and Phillip. She graduated from Leedey High School in 1951. She later attended Oklahoma State University.

On July 26, 1952, Lomas married the love of her life Herbert Haskle "Hack" Hammack. After the heartbreaking loss of their infant son, Billy Hammack in 1953 they moved to Oklahoma City, where they owned and operated a glass shop. Of this marriage four other children were born; Herb, Beth, Juli and Joni. Lomas always humored that she didn't know that Juli and Joni were twins until they were born. In 1969, they returned to Leedey, Oklahoma, where they made their home and continued building a life filled with love, family, farming and ranching.  Lomas faced one of the greatest hardships of her life when Hack passed away on February 4, 1975, but she remained steadfast in her faith and dedicated herself to her family. Later she was united in marriage to Donald Harrel. That union of marriage lasted 33 years.

Lomas was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother always putting family first. She had a deep love for her children and took pride in their accomplishments, guiding them with wisdom and unwavering support. She was known for her cooking, baking, and sewing skills. Whether it was a family gathering or a holiday celebration, Lomas made sure no one left her home hungry. She also had an eye for bargain shopping and took great joy in finding the best deals.

Above all, Lomas was a devoted Christian whose faith was the foundation of her life. In her younger years she was an active member of the Leedey Methodist Church. Later in life, she attended Harvest Fellowship Church in Leedey, where she continued to deepen her relationship with God.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Lois Fox; her husband, Hack Hammack; her infant son, Billy Hammack; and her brothers, Floyd Fox, Johnnie Fox, and Phillip Fox.

She is survived by her loving children: son Herbert Hammack Jr. and his wife Jana of Leedey, OK; daughter Beth Hammond and her husband Tim of Fort Worth, TX; daughter Juli Stierwalt and her husband Kirk of Leedey, OK; daughter Joni Lindsey of Altus, OK.

She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Linda Fox, as well as her beloved grandchildren: Shena Wilson, Ky Stierwalt, Tara Carr, Cinda Hammack, Kara New, Kyra Lane, Ciara Overman, and Macee Ponder; and great-grandchildren: Slaton Wilson, Sawyer Wilson, Kreed New, Statyn Carr, Piper Overman, Chloe New, Lynix Lane, Laityn Overman, Stockton Stierwalt, Scarlett Wilson, and Haskle Ponder.

In addition, Lomas is survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.

Lomas will be remembered for her strength, compassion, faith, and the deep love she had for her family. Though she is no longer with us, her legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

Her family and friends find comfort in knowing she is now at peace, reunited with those who have gone before her, and resting in the arms of her Savior.
