Obituary

Lorraine Leslie Justice, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on October 28, 2023, in Woodward, Oklahoma, surrounded by her family. She was born on November 16, 1955, in Portland, Maine, to Elwin and Maxine (Turner) Gardner.

Lorraine's early years were spent in Burbank, California, where she attended grade school in Sulphur Springs, California, and later graduated from William S. Hart High in Newhall, California. In 1973, she welcomed the arrival of her first son, Nathan Gardner, and in 1975, she was blessed with another son, Jacob Gardner. In the late 1970s, Lorraine and her family relocated to Payson, Arizona, where she met John Burton. Together they welcomed a son, Kurtis Burton, into the world in 1981. Their journey eventually brought them to Oklahoma, where she gave birth to her daughter, Tiffany Burton, in 1982.

In 2002, Lorraine found love once again and was united in marriage to Tim Justice in Taloga, Oklahoma. This union also brought her a stepdaughter, Jessica Kelley. Lorraine and Tim would make Taloga their home until her passing.

During her time in Taloga, Lorraine worked as a dispatcher for the Dewey County Sheriff's Office, where she played a crucial role in the community, ensuring the safety of others.

Outside of her professional life, Lorraine had a deep passion for the arts. She enjoyed painting, spending time in the kitchen, and strumming her guitar, which allowed her to express her creative and musical talents.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, Elwin and Maxine Gardner, her son Jacob Gardner, and her sister Sherry McCloud. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.

Lorraine is survived by her loving husband, Tim Justice of Taloga, Oklahoma; her brothers, Tery Gardner of Galesburg, Illinois, and Ellie Gardner of Colorado Springs, Colorado; her sister, Durena Roi of Norwood, New York; her children, Nathan Gardner and wife Cheril of Wasilla, Alaska, Kurtis Burton and wife Tawnica of Perkins, Oklahoma, and daughter Tiffany Biffle and husband Frank of Woodward, Oklahoma; her step-daughter, Jessica Kelley of Waycross, Georgia.

Lorraine was a proud grandmother to Kyla Moberg, Joshua Gardner, Luke Gardner, Bobbi Raine Gardner, Dakota Adams, Preston Adams, Bodhi Burton, Hunter Burton, Kasey Gardner, Desirae Biffle, Breeana Biffle, Brook Hickman, Ivey Biffle, Aden Biffle, Nathaniel Kelley, Cash Kelley, and Brooklyn Kelley. She also welcomed great-grandchildren, Eden Biffle, Easton Brunson, Aurora Nine, Rowyn Hood, and Ryder Hood into her heart.

In addition to her immediate family, Lorraine is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of loved ones and friends who will forever remember her kindness, warmth, and the love she shared with everyone she met.

Lorraine Leslie Justice will be deeply missed, and her memory cherished by all those whose lives she touched. Her spirit and legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
