Louise Catherine (Willis) Buchanan, daughter of Albert Eugene and Gertrude Frances (Burch) Willis was born on February 24, 1931, in Washington D.C. She passed from this life on January 31, 2023, at her home south of Arnett, OK at the age of 91. Her early years were spent in Bowie, MD where she attended elementary school and high school. Louise at the young age of 14 was very passionate about writing encouraging letters to the soldiers that were overseas during World War II. She was united in marriage to Aaron Ernie Buchanan on April 2, 1949, in Bowie. This union was blessed with two children, daughter Lona Gertrude and son Albert Ernie. The family made their home in Upper Marlboro, MD, where she raised her children. She was a very active member in St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Louise was a wonderful example of a servant's heart, with her continued support to our veterans, advocating for the Republican Party and the Right to Life Pregnancy Center. She also enjoyed working in the funeral industry, serving as a hostess, but her favorite position was being a great mom to her beautiful children. She always made it a priority to make home cooked meals for her family every day. Louise couldn't resist the opportunity to get all dolled up in evening dresses on special occasions, and while working as a hostess.

She was preceded in death by her husband Aaron Ernie Buchanan; her parents Albert and Gertrude Willis; and her siblings Joseph Willis, Mary Willis, and James Willis.

Louise is survived by her beloved children, Lona Dowling and husband Lee of Arnett, OK, and son Albert Buchanan and wife Nang of Brenham, TX; sister Frances Brown of Durham, NC; grandchildren, Aaron Buchanan, David Dowling, and Allison Lopez; great grandchildren Tony Lopez, Alex Lopez, and Dr. Joseph Dowling; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.
