Obituary

Anna Louise (Hill) Harrel was born in Carpenter, Oklahoma on June 18, 1922 to Arthur Clay and Beulah Maud (Darden) Hill. She passed from this life on December 11, 2011 at her home in Leedey. She was 89 years of age.

Louise attended school at Liberty Center until she married Elvin Lawrence Harrel of the Canadian Community on June 17, 1939 at Three Corners. Their lives were blessed with five daughters; Patricia Ann, Thelma Jean, Catherine Joyce, Vickie Lee and Karen Sue. Lawrence and Louise owned the Canadian Community Grocery and Delivery Service as well as a filling station. In later years they farmed and ranched until Lawrence's death at which time Louise leased the farm out and moved to Leedey with her girls. She was employed by Clark Propane and later she worked for many years as a cook for Leedey Public School. Louise was an avid reader, great cook, prolific quilter and homemaker. Her life's work was raising her daughters in a Godly home.

Louise was saved, baptized and joined the First Baptist Church of Leedey where she served the Lord as the church secretary, sang in the choir and assisted in the nursery. She faithfully attended Sunday school, worship service, supported missions and children's programs for over fifty years.

She was involved in any activity in which her children and grandchildren participated, from music to sports and rodeos. She was always ready to open her arms and ears to their concerns.
